THE POSITION
Our roster has an opening with your name on it
The FanDuel team is looking for a freelance TV Director to support a variety of tasks related to live, pre-recorded, studio and field production, all in support of a horse racing coverage. Under indirect supervision, the Director will research, plan, and direct production crew for racing television programming. The Director will provide technical expertise during pre-production, production, and the completion of the live programming. Our ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of the horse racing industry, the lingo, and major players.
THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play
- Directs live and taped productions through accurate calling and coordination of video, audio and graphics elements
- Works with producers to execute details of effective programs
- Provides leadership that encourages excellence and assists in the smooth operation of the organization
- Acts as liaison between producers, clients and technical crew to facilitate the TV production process
- Sets up and operates different types of television/video cameras and associated equipment, including studio and remote cameras, Jib crane and a multi-camera robotic system
- May perform other tasks such as Assistant Director when needed
- Additional duties/responsibilities as assigned
THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate
- Minimum of 5 years of directing experience in a live television studio or remote environment including directing all forms of live TV events, utilizing accepted operational techniques to achieve a high quality broadcast
- Minimum of 5 years of broadcast experience at a local TV station, cable/satellite channel or other industry related environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience preferred
- Hands-on and/or working knowledge of systems/equipment used in functions identified above, including analog/digital video/High Definition video/audio signals and monitoring equipment
- Basic knowledge of horse racing required

The applicable hourly range for this position is $47.60 - $65.38, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation.
This role includes flexible time off (including unlimited paid time off for full-time employees) and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
