The Position

This Senior Quality Engineer role is working as part of FanDuel’s Trading Technology function, where we craft sophisticated models and recommendation engines. The Live Play strategy is a greenfield initiative and includes PhD scientists who thrive on solving intriguing problems by using cutting edge technology whilst shaping the future of US sports betting.

You’ll be working within a newly created engineering team who are at the stage of forming the team, building out their ways of working and setting up their testing process and what each stage of the SDLC will involve.

  • Write test automation software mostly working in Kotlin and Python but also Java
  • Exploratory testing to whittle out bugs
  • Test software deployed to cloud based infrastructure - AWS
  • Decide on how the team test and what best practices look like
  • Engage with the engineering team to champion quality engineering

What We’re Looking For

You will have previous experience influencing development teams of quality engineers tools and best practices.

  • Experience carrying out both manual and automated testing (unit, acceptance, contract, API and performance testing)
  • Ideally using Java, Python or Kotlin for automated testing, and creating automation test frameworks from scratch
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in a regulated environment such as payments would be a bonus

Location: Our Scottish tech hub is based in central Edinburgh and is fitted with fabulous amenities including a gym, showers, bike parking, gaming pods, multiple breakout areas, meeting rooms, a roof terrace and much more. We operate a hybrid model for the majority of our roles, where we normally spend a day or two in the office per week.
