The Position

FanDuel is looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to join our Sportsbook domain, you’ll be working closely with our Sportsbook engineers day-to-day to coach and mentor them as they tackle tough technical challenges as we provide an exciting and innovative customer experience within the fast paced and growing Sportsbook environment.

You’ll be an Engineering Experience advocate with the ability to propose and promote initiatives that will not only make engineering easier but will harness a culture of continuous learning and improvement within Technology. You’ll bring innovative ideas, and identify opportunities in maturing our engineering practice and be comfortable in sharing that practice with your colleagues and stakeholders driving engineering community collaboration.

  • Manage multiple engineering teams and managers whilst working closely with senior engineers to deliver a technical vision with an eye for an excellent Customer Experience, Engineering Experience and Security
  • Help scope and define new solutions to problems while influencing the Roadmap and ensuring we delivery truly viable features and Products
  • Measure, own and drive predictability through Operational Excellence and transparency through data and KPIs

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people managers who enjoy helping and coaching those around them and who have a passion for software delivery and working with other managers to help solve problems.

  • An extensive background in technology delivering software as a manager of managers
  • Understanding of modern architectures, design patterns, and platform nuances
  • Experience in shipping high quality products and services within the Web, Mobile, and/or Connected Devices spaces
  • Experience of writing distributed, highly scalable and available backend systems & APIs
  • Demonstrated abilities driving operational excellence and best practices

Location: Our Scottish tech hub is based in central Edinburgh and is fitted with fabulous amenities including a Gym, showers, bike parking, gaming pods, multiple breakout areas, meeting rooms, a roof terrace and much more. We operate a hybrid model for the majority of our roles, where we normally spend a day or two in the office per week.
