THE POSITION

We’re looking for passionate technologists, strong communicators, and those with a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Senior Network Engineer which is passionate about cloud and has the confidence to propose pragmatic solutions to complex problems. You will have knowledge of network automation, DevOps patterns, and mature CICD processes that will help build the next generation of services that enable self-healing for our systems and minimize the work required to deploy and validate the network.

You, as a successful and talented candidate, will join the highly skilled team working across the FanDuel technology organization. As a part of the Cloud Network Engineering team, you will assist in the design, definition, implementation, observation, and support of the network architectures and environments.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

THE GAME PLAN

  • Develop and implement infrastructure as code allowing for authoritative and actionable standards across networking devices and virtual networks
  • Develop and implement automation systems to support the build and operations of networks and networking components
  • Develop orchestration to realize a vision of zero touch provisioning and operations, delivering outcomes that ensure our networks are always available and performing to expectations
  • Collaborating with network architects and engineers to design and implement company networks.
  • Configured and develop cloud based production and tools in the network suite.
  • Drive continuous improvement of detection and remediation of operational events
  • Code development and reviews of peer code to ensure high quality and functionality

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience designing & implementing cloud connectivity: AWS VPC/Network peering, Cloud-to-Cloud, On-prem-to-cloud in a production environment.
  • Experience designing & implementing cloud and infrastructure automation (e.g. automated provisioning of network devices, experience with cloud networking technologies such as TGW, GWLB, AWS Network Firewall, Cloud WAN).
  • Broad understanding of TCP/IP fundamental and different routing protocols: BGP is preferred
  • Hold networking certification and not only (example CCNA, CCDE, JNCIA, JNCIE, AWS CSAA/CSAP etc…)
  • Familiarity/hands on experience with any network device operating systems (Arista,Cisco,PaloAlto)
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD)
  • Experience working with and implementing templating systems and automation techniques using Terraform.
  • Being comfortable taking DataDog for a walk
  • It would be a great plus to have EKS or/and Outpost experience
  • Comfort in a linux environment and troubleshooting using the linux command line
  • Ability to mentor other developers to maintain architectural vision and software quality.
  • Ability to work in a distributed environment for both individual and team based projects
  • Cloud networking production experience in Amazon AWS and Google.
  • Experience leading complex global projects from development through implementation
  • A good understanding of IT environments including networking, server technologies, databases, security and performance
  • Ability to understand systems from all levels, from the "big picture" enterprise-level view to the low-level technical view

The applicable salary range for this position is $138,000 - $181,650 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
