We believe that Pokémon GO is a game best experienced together and in the real world, and the striking growth of our Community Ambassador program suggests that our players feel similarly! We're looking for a Community Program Manager to help support and grow community-focused programs by championing our community efforts. In this role, you'll help develop processes and find operational efficiencies which enable smooth day-to-day operations of our community programming. You'll also play a pivotal role in the organic growth of the program by managing inbound applications and onboarding community Ambassadors. If you’re passionate about bringing people together, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that requires you to balance multiple projects at once, we’d love to hear from you. Join us in shaping the future of real-world gaming communities!

Responsibilities

  • Drive and manage the full lifecycle of the Community Ambassador Program application and onboarding processes, including proactively identifying and sourcing new, high-potential communities.
  • Independently manage the day-to-day operations of the Community Ambassador Program, serving as the primary point of contact for inquiries, proactively soliciting and synthesizing community feedback, and owning official communications to keep the community informed.
  • Take ownership of the daily operations and strategic alignment of all community programs, ensuring efficiency, scale, and clear connection to broader strategic goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop, maintain, and own comprehensive documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for community programs and communication strategies.
  • Strategically source and curate high-quality user-generated content from a wide range of diverse communities to directly support and influence marketing campaigns and creative design efforts.
  • Serve as a key collaborator with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, consistently providing reliable attendance and active participation in meetings, representing the community program's perspective.

Qualifications

  • At least 3+ years of progressive experience in community management, program management, or event planning, preferably within the gaming industry. (Significant and proven volunteer experience leading large, complex communities, gaming guilds, or similar groups with demonstrable impact may be considered)
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly master and implement new tools, technologies, and processes, with deep operational proficiency in Discord, CRMs, and advanced features of Google Sheets or similar data management platforms.
  • Expert-level, nuanced knowledge of Pokémon, Pokémon GO, and the dynamics of adjacent gaming and fan communities. (In-depth knowledge of current gaming and community trends, including emergent platforms and technologies, is highly preferred)
  • Advanced ability to engage and manage diverse global audiences, fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and high-quality user experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, advanced time management skills, and the proven ability to effectively manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously under pressure.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work non-traditional and on-call hours as required to support global events and critical activations.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment, effectively manage high-stress situations, and demonstrate high adaptability in tackling practical problems and dynamic situations with minimal advance notice.
  • Extensive experience working on and leading initiatives within cross-functional teams, demonstrating superior written and verbal communication skills, including effective asynchronous interaction and documentation.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish, written and verbal, capable of drafting high-stakes professional communications and complex program documentation in both languages.

Plus if...

  • You’ve managed brand ambassadors (or been one).
  • You have successfully launched, run, or moderated a Discord server with thousands of active participants.
  • You have experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello).
